Hello people...could you please help me raise $1000 in two weeks
My name is Michael Reed. I am 34 and live in Dallas, Texas. I have been unemployed since the end of last month and have run out of money. I had a job but quit voluntarily due to tensions with my boss and the general poor work environment (those things happen and it's a natural part of working life). I've been in this situation a couple of times before and have had family and friends help me. Now, instead of bothering them with my troubles, I have decided to try this new "cyberbegging" thing and see how I do with complete strangers.
Would you be able to help me get to $1000 by the end of the month? Here's how the money will be spent:
-rent for March ($500)
-a bus pass for unlimited bus rides during March ($40)
-food (about $150-175 for the month)
-utility payments (about $150 including electric, phone and Internet access)
-If there is enough left over after that I will place $150 in a reserve fund, make some donations to other cyberbeggars, and donate the remainder to the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.
If I reach $1000 by one week from today (2/24) I will declare my quest "mission accomplished" and terminate this blog. All donors will receive a personal thank you e-mail from me.
How else can you help?
If you can't send money to me, please consider going to my graphic design website and looking at my work and my resume. I'm looking for a full-time job as a graphics guy, but also have experience in telephone customer service and have applied for a couple of great potential jobs in that field as well. I hope to be working in a new job by the end of this month at the latest, but thought I might try this as a backup. I'm NOT expecting any response to this but anything the public can do to help will be EXTREMELY appreciated.
Please consider paying via PayPal, but if you wish you may send an e-mail to me with an address request, and I will give you my mailing address via return e-mail.
Thanks very much and here goes.
